An Injection For Lameness
Kush is an injection given directly into the joint, indicated
for both equine and canine use.
Can you imagine, reviving a performance career (racing, jumping)? A dog or horse simply running again? Regaining full mobility?
What Exactly Is The Kush™ System?
Our leading veterinary device product is the Kush System, which is used to reinforce cartilage tissue in the treatment of osteoarthritis for dogs and horses. Kush particles for intra-articular injection (IA) are sterile, gel-particles that act like micro-sized sponges (75-120 microns in diameter). By taking up the joint's synovial fluid, they become slippery (lubricious) and mechanically similar to articulating hyaline cartilage. Indeed, the coupling of the synovial fluid's inherent physical characteristics with the KUSH particle’s durable structure produces a soft springy cushion to absorb mechanical forces, mimicking and augmenting the effects of natural cartilage.
Kush particles are designed to mitigate the occurrence and recurrence of joint pain from loss of cartilage not associated with infection, (e.g. lameness, osteoarthritis). Kush particles are injected as a veterinary device to augment synovial fluid function, without pharmacologic, chemical or metabolic action.
